I strongly advise everyone NOT to talk to the media. There has been an increase in interest from the media recently to interview people from this site.

It is in your own interests to NOT disclose your personal details (real name, address etc) either on the forum or by email unless you have first gotten to know that person through PM or a face to face.

It’s not a good idea to advertise that you “might have” stockpiles of food or survival related equipment to the press. Their main interest is in making you look like an extremist or a fool. Their ratings and sales depend on them being able to sensationalize a story – facts come a poor second.

I understand that Al Jazeera English in Washington is currently spamming some of you in the hope of an interview. There are harsh penalties for spamming. You might want to consider reporting their spam.

Before wasting your time posting spam or rants or lonely hearts – GO TO THIS LINK – and read what is appropriate for this site.

Failure to do so will see such posts trashed. Repeated abuse will see your IP banned and your access to this site GONE!

No second chances. Enough is enough. If you try posting outside the (very few) guidelines – then your post will be deleted and so will your access to this site.

Creating fake accounts in order to flame other posters on this site from multiple accounts = instant banning.

May – 18, 2011 – if, after logging in, you still get a message saying you need to log in to post – try using another browser. It could be that the browser you are using is not accepting cookies.

August – 22, 2011 – the “4,000th member” mailout revealed three more members with non-existent email addresses. Their accounts have been deleted. (one reason I like doing a monthly mailout – to weed out the accounts no longer being used) The winners of the $25 Amazon.com Gift Vouchers 4,000th member celebration draw were – Izaana and Free. Congratulations!

October – 14, 2011 – no more mass emails of newsletters! If you wish to receive the newsletter updates in future, go to preppergroups.com. On the right hand side, under login is the newsletter subscribe button.

November – 1, 2011 – This weekend marked the 4,500th member joining the site! As promised, two newsletter subscribers have been picked at random by my better half to receive Amazon.com Gift Cards.

November – 11, 2011 – a big day for spammers trying to join the site! About 30 knocked back so far, most with Russian Federation IP’s, but others scattered across the globe. Ah well, it keeps me on my toes I guess.

November – 11, 2011 – we now have a MAG category. Oh, remember to add a category when you post to the site – it helps everyone if people list under state (or country) categories.

November – 14, 2011 – spammers still hitting the site. It’s been an attack lasting 3 days so far. New software now installed that should stop them in their tracks. Knock on wood.

November – 17, 2011 – the Facebook pages for this site have been abandoned. It seems like I hear every day new violations by Facebook of privacy, security etc. – enough is enough.

November – 23, 2011 – “Stop Spammer Registrations has prevented 84 spammers from registering or leaving comments.” Yep, the new software install is working like a charm.

December – 14, 2011 – Barb Fix announces her book, Prepare Before Disaster Strikes!, is now available as a paperback!

December – 20, 2011 – today the site gained it’s….
5000!

December – 26, 2011 – our recent growth spurt has led to an increase in database size – again.

January – 20, 2012 – prepper forum received a security upgrade

January – 24, 2012 – you’ll have noticed new ads on the site over the last few days. One of the site’s major revenue sources has dried up (out of business? not sure….) and I’m wanting to have regular Amazon Gift Cert giveaways for newsletter subscribers. Hopefully the ads will make that possible; they are commission based, so let’s hope some sales will be made to make the giveaways possible.

January – 24, 2012 – a sitemap has been added to the site

January – 26, 2012 – the A+ Prepper Store has been added to the site. Sales made thru this will earn commissions that will keep this website up and running – and also (hopefully) leave enough left over for regular giveaways to newsletter subscribers.

I have spent the better part of an hour dealing with a deranged individual who registered on this site. He accused me of threatening his life; of costing him money because he purchased some sort of virus protection in case I “went after him”; of “trying to get inside his head” etc. etc.

It ended with him emailing me trying to extort money to ensure he left the site. Ha! I have easier methods of making him leave.

He is now GONE!

What this does point out is – there are some real loons out there people! Be extremely cautious in your dealings with others – here or anywhere! Okay?

Hello fellow preppers. I am looking for like minded people to form a Prepper group in Northeast Georgia area. I am about to purchase land in Ellijay/Blue Ridge area for a retreat. I am 34 , married with 5 kids. My father was a hard core prepper/survivalist and I was brought up learning all areas of survival. It has taken me 16 years to convince my wife for need to prepare for SHTF conditions. We are not interested in the racist, or fanatic groups. We are looking for looking for like minded families with common sense

I’m an 11 year Marine Corps vet, my wife is a 14 year Nurse and we have two small boys. We’ve been prepping for many years and we’re looking to make connections with like minded individuals or families in and around the Bellingham area for personal meet ups. We’re not opposed to meeting or sharing ideas with other across the state as well. We would love to exchange ideas, train and generally get to know others for a mutually beneficial relationship. We know times are hard and it’s especially tough to wake others up but we do believe that by establishing a network of preppers, together we can all make the tough times easier. A little about myself….am Christian person male 63 years old have been into the end times preparation for quite sometime in preparing for the tribulation we are about to go thru shortly, though Ive not yet began storing or planning where to go….I just would like to be with like minded Christians doing the Lords work. At present I live with my son but looks more like I will be striking out on my own as he is so undecided and I dont want to wait till all opportunites to link up with someone or a group are gone. My age does sometimes limit me, however Im not helpless.m now living in South Carolina and would like to meet up with someone here if at all possible. I am relatively new to prepping. I live in Lakewood. My neighbor is also starting. We are looking for others in our area to meet with, share ideas, learn from, etc. We are trying to find people in West Cleveland, Lakewood, Rocky River, Westlake, etc.

I am a 31 yr old single female living alone (with a dog). I’m a CERT volunteer and auxiliary police officer. I just converted the coal room in my basement to a food storage room and got canning supplies for xmas and began canning and storing. Starting food storage buckets soon. Just bought my first gun a couple days ago. Would like to meet more like minded people.

my wife and i of 7 years are looking for a group or family that is interested in grouping up. We live just north of charleton and would prefer a spot in the hills far from the city. We have been gathering lots of basic prep items and are getting ready to get more serious about it but need a better location than we currently have. We are christain and have two small children. We are open minded but not into anything illegal. i hope this sight can lead us to a good group. also we are in our mid-late twenties with good empoyment.

We live in central Wisconsin just south of WI Rapids and would like to associate with an existing group who is hopefully more knowledgable in this subject than are we. We have begun gathering the basic survival materials on our own, but are very concious of the fact that there must be many things we’ve not yet thought to acquire.
